KITCHENER, ON, Sept. 24, 2014 /CNW/ - In September 1954 the RCMP detachment moved from Guelph Ontario where it had been stationed since 1939 to Kitchener at 151 Frederick Street.
To help celebrate the 60th anniversary, Kitchener Detachment Commander, S/Sgt. Ed Moreland would like to invite all members of the public and the media to attend an open house.
Members of the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Police Dog Service, Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) and Recruiting will all be on hand to answer questions and provide demonstrations.
In addition, cell blocks will be open to the public for viewing and a display to honour the 40th anniversary of female members in the RCMP will also be showcased.
