Media Advisory - Ready to GO: economic impact analysis of GO train Lakeshore East extension to be released April 8
WHITBY, ON, April 6, 2016 /CNW/ - The results of an economic impact analysis on the proposed GO train Lakeshore East extension through central Oshawa to Bowmanville will be revealed on Friday, April 8.
The analysis was conducted by Arup and Altus Group and financed by the Durham Learning and Business District (dLAB), Municipality of Clarington, City of Oshawa, Municipality of Port Hope, Town of Cobourg, Northumberland County and Halminen Homes.
It looks specifically at the anticipated economic impact of the GO train extension on Durham Region including opportunities for significant transit-oriented development and the resulting substantial increase in jobs.
In addition, details of the planned four new stations and the route for the extension, in accordance with the provincially approved 2011 Environmental Assessment, will be shared.
