Media advisory - Red carpet screening of The Breadwinner at Ottawa International Animation Festival
OTTAWA, Sept. 21, 2017 /CNW/ - Media are invited to the red carpet of The Breadwinner screening, where Shaw Rocket Fund President and CEO Agnes Augustin, Environment and Climate Change Minister Catherine McKenna, local Members of Parliament, city councillors and other political VIPs will attend to watch this important animated feature film.
Coming off a successful premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in which it was named one of the Top 10 best movies by BlogTO, The Breadwinner tells the story of 11-year-old Parvana, who must disguise herself as a boy to help her family in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. The animated film is internationally co-produced by Aircraft Pictures (Canada), Cartoon Saloon (Ireland), and Melusine Productions (Luxembourg) and partly funded by Shaw Rocket Fund. The Breadwinner is based on award winning Canadian author Deborah Ellis's book of the same name.
