CALGARY, Oct. 22, 2012 /CNW/ - The Canadian Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual Economic Edge Conference on Wednesday, October 24, 2012.
In the next several years, Canada's population will increasingly become urbanized. As our cities prosper and grow, they will be faced with significant challenges. The overall competitiveness of the Canadian economy depends on the efficiency, productivity and innovativeness of our urban centers. This conference will address the barriers to Canadian competitiveness by addressing core challenges facing our urban centers. Issues such as congestion, infrastructure, governance, sustainability and energy will all be discussed.
The keynote addresses, by Doug Griffiths, Minister of Municipal Affairs, Government of Alberta Rich Michos, Vice President, Marketing, Smarter Cities, IBM and by The Hon. Alison M. Redford, QC, MLA, Premier of Alberta are open to press.
