Media Advisory - Rehab Express workers to hold information picket to back contract demands
ST. THOMAS, ON, May 26, 2015 /CNW/ - Members of OPSEU Local 152 representing paramedical workers at Closing the Gap HealthCare Group-Rehab Express in St. Thomas and Elgin County will stage an information picket May 27 to back up their demands in contract negotiations.
The workers, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, dietitians and speech language pathologists, have been working without a contract since August, 2012.
Employees are upset with unstable working conditions that produce an abnormally high staff turnover rate. This instability has negative impacts on staff and patients alike. The workers have not seen a wage increase since 2010.
