2016 marks the half-way point of the Ontario government's second Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS). It has been 27 years since the unanimous House of Commons' resolution to end child poverty in Canada by 2000.
The 2016 Ontario report card, entitled THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW: Ontario Children Can't Wait provides the latest statistics on child and family poverty in Ontario and clear recommendations for provincial government action to end child and family poverty. The report will be launched at the Turning The Tide Against Poverty Event (an event hosted by ISARC-Interfaith Social Assistance Reform Coalition). Presentation will be at 1:15pm, interviews will be available between 12:30pm-1:00pm and 1:30pm-2:00pm.
