MONTREAL, May 31 /CNW Telbec/ - Swedish company Elekta announced today the acquisition of Resonant Medical Inc. Based in Montreal, Resonant Medical specializes in image-guided radiation therapy for treating cancer, using the latest generation of 3D ultra sound technology. The technology, which has been developed in Montreal with leading academic institutions, improves treatment accuracy for prostate, breast, liver, uterus, bladder as well as head and neck cancers. Resonant Medical's equipment is used daily in cancer treatment centers in the U,S., Canada, Italy,The Netherlands, and Ireland.
