Media Advisory - Restaurant industry spokespeople available at tomorrow's Ontario budget
TORONTO, May 1, 2013 /CNW/ - As one of the province's largest employers, Ontario's restaurant industry will be watching tomorrow's budget for actions that help operators grow their businesses, stimulate job creation, and display the province's culinary talent. Ontario restaurateurs will also be paying close attention to any changes to the minimum wage, which would affect their labour costs and ability to create more jobs, especially for youth.
Garth Whyte, President and CEO of the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association (CRFA), and Stephanie Jones, CRFA's Vice-President, Ontario and Sustainability, will be at Queen's Park tomorrow and available for comment on the Ontario budget.
Ontario's $25-billion restaurant industry is the fourth-largest private-sector employer with more than 425,000 direct jobs, and is the number one source of first jobs.
