Media advisory - Royal Canadian Mint hosts "Peregrine" 25-cent coin exchange at the Canadian Museum of Nature Français
OTTAWA, March 5, 2012 /CNW/ -
What: | The Royal Canadian Mint will be holding a coin exchange at the Canadian Museum of Nature for the new "Peregrine" 25-cent commemorative circulation coin, which began circulating March 5, 2012. This coin, first unveiled in October 2011 as one of five new circulation coins celebrating Canada's legendary nature, is the last in the series. |
To celebrate this bird species brought back from the brink of extinction through countless volunteer efforts across Canada, the Mint is inviting visitors to the Canadian Museum of Nature's Bird Gallery to trade their loose change and be among the first Canadians to own this exciting new circulation coin. As the Mint has employed its unique technology to colour half of the 12.5 million coins featuring this theme, some of the coins exchanged at this event will be coloured.
While quantities last, visitors can also receive a free illustrated collector card in which to keep all of the coins from the 2011 Legendary Nature commemorative circulation coin series.
When: | Wednesday, March 7, 2012, from 10:30 am - 1:00 pm |
Where: | Canadian Museum of Nature Bird Gallery 240 McLeod Street Ottawa, Ontario, Canada |
