OTTAWA, Jan. 11, 2012 /CNW/ -
What: | The Royal Canadian Mint is coming to the Manitoba Legislative Building to hold the first coin exchange of the Mint's new "Wood Bison" 25-cent commemorative circulation coin. This coin, first unveiled in October 2011 as one of five new circulation coins celebrating Canada's legendary nature will begin circulating across Canada on January 16. |
To celebrate a familiar symbol of Manitoba on a coin manufactured in Winnipeg, the Mint is inviting visitors to the Legislative Building to trade their loose change to be among the first Canadians to own this exciting new circulation coin. As the Mint has employed its unique technology to colour half of the 12.5 million coins featuring this theme, some of the coins exchanged at this event will be coloured. |
|
While quantities last, visitors can also receive a free illustrated collector card in which to keep all five coins from the 2011 Legendary Nature commemorative circulation coin series. |

When: | Friday, January 13, 2012 12:00 - 2:00 pm |
