CALGARY, July 16, 2012 /CNW/ - A news conference is planned to allow a group of rural residents from the Quebec Lowlands region and the Oil and Gas Services Association of Quebec (OGSAQ) to discuss their recent tour of oil and gas activities on Alberta farms. The news conference will be held at 2:30 p.m. MDT on Wednesday, July 18 in Calgary. A telephone call-in number is available for media unable to attend in person.
Natural gas development, including drilling horizontal wells and multi‐stage hydraulic fracturing, occurs regularly on farm lands in Alberta.
"The tour gave people from the Quebec Lowlands a chance to talk with their Alberta counterparts about oil and gas development on their land and to see the oil and gas industry's practices and impacts for themselves, said Mario Levesque, OGSAQ president. "The news conference is an opportunity for the group to share their views."
