VANCOUVER, March 6, 2017 /CNW/ - The Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is hosting a workshop on safe medical care in Vancouver, British Columbia on April 27, 2017. The full-day workshop will help physician leaders to develop the attitudes, knowledge and skills needed to promote and prioritize safe medical care within a clinical setting. The workshop is being presented as a pre-conference course at the 2017 Canadian Conference on Physician Leadership.
During the workshop, participants will learn how to:
- Establish a fair and just culture in the workplace.
- Address poor provider conduct and disruptive behavior.
- Foster and support the disclosure of patient safety incidents.
Speakers at the workshop include distinguished leaders in the area of safe medical care, such as:
- Dr. Guylaine Lefebvre, Director Practice Improvement, CMPA
- Dr. Steven Bellemare, Senior Physician Advisor for Practice Improvement, CMPA
- Dr. Pamela Eisener-Parsche, Director of Physician Consulting Services, CMPA
- Mr. Daniel Boivin, Partner, Gowling WLG law firm
The safe medical care workshop would be beneficial for hospital chief executive officers, vice-presidents and board chairs, as well as chiefs of staff, department and program directors, academic program directors, and aspiring physician leaders.
