Media advisory - Sailors of HMCS Donnacona to commemorate Battle of the Atlantic
MONTREAL, May 4, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Members of the media are invited to attend a ceremony organized to pay tribute to the Canadians who served in the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN), the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and the merchant navy during the Battle of the Atlantic. The event will take place on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the Old Port of Montreal.
A parade of more than 200 participants from Her Majesty's Canadian Ship (HMCS) Donnacona, the Royal Canadian Legion, the Canadian Merchant Navy and the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets will be inspected by Captain (Navy) Hugues Letourneau.
The Naval Reserve Division of Montreal will host the ceremony.
Date and time: Sunday, May 6, 2012, at 2:00 pm.
Place: Clock tower at the Old Port of Montreal.
Note to editors: Members of the media who are interested in attending the ceremony are asked to arrive at the clock tower at the Old Port of Montreal before 1:45 pm.
