VANCOUVER, Aug. 7, 2014 /CNW/ - The Children's Wish Foundation of BC & Yukon is excited to welcome a new innovative and dynamic supporter, Sam Sung who chose the foundation as the recipient of funds raised through auctioning off his Apple business card on eBay. Sung is including his old uniform and official Apple store lanyard with the business card. Everything has been framed, and as an added bonus, Sam Sung autographed the glass. The package went live at 7:00pm on Tuesday, August 5th and has already gone viral online through Twitter and is generating a lot of buzz in the media, creating publicity for Sam and Children's Wish.
Sam Sung called the foundation on August 5, to share his plans to auction off some of his personal items related to his employment at Apple. The director of BC & Yukon Chapter, Jennifer Petersen was pleasantly surprised to receive such an unusual call. In conversation with her, Sam said that he is committed to supporting the Foundation because "Children's Wish is clearly passionate about what they do…. and have an organic approach to fulfilling a child's most heartfelt wish".
Although Sung is parting with his last remaining business card, he has no hard feelings for the tech company. On his eBay page he explained, "I had a great time working for Apple and would recommend it to anyone. I hope my old business card will go to another fellow Apple enthusiast with a sense of humour and the desire to help raise some money for a good cause."
Currently the auction is hovering at $5,000 with more than eight days yet to run.
The Children's Wish Foundation is proud to be a charity of choice for Sam's auction and is very grateful for his generous support.
