Media Advisory - Seeking Information From the Public - Dodge Ram 1500 and Dodge Dakota Pick-up Trucks: Rear Axle Failures
OTTAWA, Dec. 4, 2012 /CNW/ - Transport Canada is seeking information from the public on 2009 and 2010 model year Dodge Ram 1500 and Dakota pick-up trucks concerning possible safety issues. The issues are related to the rear axle pinion nut that may have been incorrectly manufactured and could loosen. Some drivers of these specific models have advised Transport Canada of a noise which could be heard just prior to the failure.
Chrysler Canada will conduct a voluntary safety recall to install a pinion nut retainer on all affected vehicles built between July 1, 2009 and November 30, 2009. For specific information about this road safety recall, please visit: Transport Canada recall 2012-327
