Media are invited to a ceremonial tree planting hosted by Canada Lands Company and the Highway of Heroes Living Tribute that will see to the planting of 1,000 trees in Downsview Park on September 25, 2016. |
This partnership is in support of the Highway of Heroes Living Tribute's mandate to create a living memorial and plant 117,000 trees in total, one for each of Canada's fallen soldiers since Confederation. Downsview Park was chosen as a tree planting site due to its military legacy and close proximity to highway 401. |

Photo opportunity - Following remarks, dignitaries will participate in the planting of a large ceremonial tree to mark the occasion. |
