Media advisory - Showing Some Love to Bridgeland
CALGARY, Sept. 16, 2013 /CNW/ - Summer may be coming to a close, but it wouldn't be complete without one more celebration. On September 21, we're launching Canada's Sport Hall of Fame's Everyday Sports HeroTM program and giving back to the Bridgeland community.
The Everyday Sports Hero program is a national program that promotes, recognizes, and celebrates the grassroots community leaders who make participation and leadership in sport possible for others. The first Everyday Sports Hero is Deb Lee. Deb is being recognized for her dedication to Bridgeland-Riverside and her role in the "Communities ChooseWell" Program - a provincial initiative aimed at promoting healthy eating and physical activity and well-being. Her focus has been on active living for everyone, but especially for seniors.
To recognize Deb's commitment and to launch the renewed Everyday Sports Hero, sponsored by Molson Coors, we're looking for 75 adult volunteers to come out to refurbish a baseball diamond in Bridgeland. From painting to planting, volunteers will enjoy a fun day and are welcome to play a game of ball followed by a celebration of a job well done in the new Molson Coors office.
Volunteers are asked to sign up here: http://bridgelandeverydaysportshero.eventbrite.com
