TORONTO, Sept. 6, 2017 /CNW/ - As TIFF prepares to kick off this week, an announcement is taking place that has significant implications for the future growth and production efficiency of the media and entertainment sector in the GTA.
The announcement concerns the commercialization of SirtNet, a unique collaborative addition to the Ontario media and entertainment production and postproduction system.

SirtNet was researched and developed over a 4-year period at Sheridan's Screen Industries and Research Centre (SIRT) at Pinewood Toronto Studios, in collaboration with leading media, entertainment, and information technology companies as well as industry associations. SirtNet is a dedicated and secure network of broadband fibre and shared render and storage services, which enables companies to connect and work together on one fully digital platform from beginning to end of the production cycle. |

SirtNet was recently commercialized by a consortium of companies, allowing for scaling throughout the GTA and, ultimately, connections to leading production and postproduction centres throughout the world. |
