Media Advisory - "Snow How" Winter Driving Safety Campaign Launch
TORONTO, Nov. 14, 2016 /CNW/ - The Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA) and the City of Brampton will launch "Snow How," a new provincial campaign to remind drivers to slow down, be patient and give plows plenty of room when driving in snow and ice this winter.
What: |
Media Ride-along Opportunity – Snow Plow Readiness |
Brampton snow plow operators will demonstrate how they practice on a closed course, shoveling wood chips to refine their skills. Media will get a view from the plow, so they can see just how dangerous it is when impatient drivers try to pass around or between plows. |
|
Media will also learn more about how Ontario's municipalities clear and maintain some 290,000 lane-kilometres of roadway every winter to keep us our communities moving, as well as how all drivers must do their share for a safe winter driving season. |
|
When: |
November 18, 2016 |
Where: |
Sandalwood Public Works Yard, 120 Sandalwood Parkway West, Brampton |
Event will be held on the north side of the Works Yard. Turn right from Sandalwood Parkway and follow the driveway straight to end. Parking available beside event space. |
|
Note: |
Media must wear closed toed shoes, no heels. |
