Media Advisory - Striking CarePartners' workers to host BBQ May 2 in St. Catharines
ST. CATHARINES, ON, May 1, 2015 /CNW/ - Striking CarePartners' employees will host a public BBQ on May 2 to draw attention to their labour dispute which is about to enter its fourth week.
Speakers at the BBQ will include St. Catharines Mayor Walter Sendzik, area MPPs Wayne Gates and Cindy Forster and MP Malcolm Allen.
More than 130 CarePartner workers walked off the job on April 10. The union is demanding a fair hourly wage rate instead of the current pay-per-visit rate. Also on the bargaining table are hours of work and health and safety issues.
The public is welcome to join CarePartners staff at the May 2 BBQ.
