TORONTO, March 9, 2018 /CNW/ - As week one of a strike by York University's academic workers winds down, picket lines will get some high-profile support this afternoon.
Fred Hahn, President of the Ontario Division of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE Ontario), will be accompanied by the entire CUPE Ontario Executive Board to demonstrate their support for 3,000 striking members of CUPE 3903, who began strike action against York University Monday morning.
Buses carrying the CUPE Ontario Executive Board, whose members hail from every region in the Province, are scheduled to arrive at the York University Main Entrance, located at the intersection of Keele Street and York Boulevard, at approximately 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 9.
