URGENT ACTION ON POVERTY & CLIMATE CHANGE NEEDED AT G8/G20
TORONTO, March 3 /CNW Telbec/ - A global campaign aimed at ensuring the voices of the world's poorest nations are AT THE TABLE of the G8 & G20 Summits, will launch on International Women's Day on the spot where the G20 meets next June.
Stephen Lewis, Tzeporah Berman and two delegates from the W8 Summit will gather around a table in the Metro Convention Centre to outline why poverty alleviation, climate change and economic reform must be priority items on both Summit agendas. Seated beside them will be the G8 leaders in the form of "Flat Leaders" designed for the campaign.

AT THE TABLE is a broad coalition representing more than 60 major Canadian development NGO's, labour, student and faith-based organizations. The W8 is a group of 8 women representing national civil society coalitions in the Global South, campaigning on quality and accessible basic services.
