Media Advisory - Taking citizenship to new heights: Unique ceremony to be held at CN Tower's EdgeWalk Français
TORONTO, Oct. 4, 2018 /CNW/ - Six candidates for Canadian citizenship will take the Oath of Citizenship to new heights at CN Tower's EdgeWalk to kick off Citizenship Week from October 8 to 14.
These brave candidates will suit up in EdgeWalk gear, complete the world's highest hands-free walk and become Canadian citizens 116 storeys above ground.
The Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, will be in attendance to present our newest Canadians with their citizenship certificates on the LookOut Level of CN Tower after the EdgeWalk.
CN Tower is the first of three prominent Canadian landmarks that will host elevated citizenship ceremonies as part of Citizenship Week, including the Vancouver Lookout on October 11 and the Tour de Montréal on October 12.

9:30 a.m. – Candidates for citizenship gear-up at EdgeWalk Base Camp at CN Tower
10:10 a.m. – EdgeWalk begins (media will be on the LookOut Level watching on CCTV – video only)
10:20 a.m. – Ceremony start time (media will be on the LookOut Level watching on CCTV – video only)
11:20 a.m. – Presentation of certificates and reception, followed by media availability (LookOut Level)

All week, Canadians are encouraged to share what it means to be Canadian and share a pic of their favourite Canadian place on social media using #CitizenshipWeek.
October is also Women's History Month and Citizenship Week is an opportunity to reflect upon the Canadian women who have shaped this country. Many ceremonies from coast to coast will feature prominent women who have made an impact, including civic leaders, scientists, athletes and more.
