Media Advisory - Technical briefing and media event on expanding harm-reduction services in Toronto
TORONTO, March 12, 2016 /CNW/ - Dr. David McKeown, Toronto's Medical Officer of Health, will host a media event on March 14 to promote the release of a Board of Health report on supervised injection services. Supervised injection services are health services that provide a safe, hygienic environment for people to inject pre-obtained drugs under a nurse's supervision.

The new report follows a Board of Health report that recommended the implementation of these health services and was adopted by the Board of Health in July 2013. The 2016 report will be available on Monday at http://bit.ly/1UPXIk8 and considered at the March 21 Board of Health meeting. Printed copies will be made available at Monday's briefing.
