Media Advisory - The Better Workplace Conference 2014 in Calgary: Discussing Opportunities and Barriers for Organizational Health
CALGARY, Nov. 21, 2014 /CNW/ - From November 24 to 26, The Conference Board of Canada is excited to host this year's Better Workplace Conference in Calgary where industry leaders will gather to share ideas and strategies on the latest concepts for creating a better workplace.
In its 18th year but a new acquisition for The Conference Board of Canada, this premier forum will cover topics affecting today's workplace including mental health, corporate communities, work-life balance, wellness and adaptable organizational cultures.
Drawing from previous participants' feedback, this year's conference will focus discussion on three central themes:
1. Innovations in Workplace Health and Wellness
2. Mental Health and a Psychologically Safe Workforce
3. Change and Resilience—The Impact on Organizational Design and Workplace Culture
Attendees will also honour this year's recipient of the distinguished Canadian Workplace Wellness Pioneer Award on November 26. Kelly Blackshaw of InLiv Inc. will be recognized for the difference she has made in improving the health of Canadian workplaces. Kinesiologist, certified exercise physiologist, author and speaker, Kelly recently researched and designed two comprehensive behaviour change programs that are yielding significant health benefits for people suffering from stress and chronic diseases. Among many more accomplishments, she has recently co-authored two books – Stress Mastery and Bridging Self-Care with Health Care.
