Media Advisory - The Black Business and Professional Association Announces the Media Launch for the 30th Anniversary of the BBPA Harry Jerome Awards

TORONTO, March 19, 2012 /CNW/ - The Black Business and Professional Association (BBPA) will announce the winners of the 30^th BBPA Harry Jerome Awards on March 20^th, 2012. Presented by RBC, the BBPA Harry Jerome Award event will be held on Saturday, April 28^th, 2012.  This is an exciting event that recognizes and profiles Black Canadians who have demonstrated commitment and success in a variety of fields including: Academics, Arts, Media, Entertainment, Athletics, Business, Community Service, Health Sciences, Leadership, Professional Excellence, Entrepreneurship, and Technology and Innovation.  Special awards will also be presented for the Lifetime Achievement, Diversity, Trailblazer and the President's Award. In keeping with our commitment to the youth and the building of a sustained, relevant and viable community, there is also the addition of three new Awards - the Youth Advocacy Award, the Legacy Award and the Heritage Award. To commemorate the 30^th Anniversary we will also be announcing the launch of the first BBPA Harry Jerome Awards Commemorative Book of Excellence (1983 - 2012) - a book of inspiration featuring all the winners to date - the achievements of some of the best in the Black community.
