Media Advisory - The Canadian Transportation Agency's oral hearing into the Air Transat tarmac delays Français
GATINEAU, QC, Aug. 28, 2017 /CNW/ - The Canadian Transportation Agency's (CTA) oral hearing into Air Transat tarmac delays for flights No. 157 from Brussels and No. 507 from Rome, on July 31, 2017.
Purpose of hearing
The purpose of the oral hearing is to allow the CTA to hear evidence from witnesses regarding the Air Transat Flights 157 and 507 tarmac delays at the Ottawa MacDonald-Cartier International Airport on July 31, 2017. The CTA will be inviting individuals or organizations directly involved in, or affected by, the incidents to appear at the oral hearing to testify. A list of witnesses will be made available when confirmed.
The evidence gathered and summarized by the Inquiry Officer and the testimony heard at this hearing, along with final written submissions by the parties, will all be considered by the CTA in making its determination on the two outstanding issues before the CTA:
- Did Air Transat properly apply its Tariff during these incidents; and
- Are Air Transat's applicable Tariff provisions reasonable.
The hearing will be live via webcast and available on CPAC starting at 11:00 a.m. local time.

Media representatives may observe the hearing. Cameras will only be allowed in the room to get cover shots and for the Chair's opening remarks at 10:00 a.m. on August 30th. The seating capacity in the public gallery is for 90 people only, and will be filled on a first come first served basis.
