Members of the media are invited to a photo opportunity as two co-ops from St. Catharines each receive a cheque for $25,000. Garden City Food Co-operative and Niagara Local Food Co-operative were the two Ontario Region Winners of The National Co-op Challenge.

The National Co-op Challenge was a social media contest developed by The Co-operators. Co-ops from across Canada submitted videos introducing their co-op and outlining their plans on how they would use prize money. Based on public voting online, the two St. Catharines-based co-ops were declared the winners in the Ontario Region.

Leah Cochrane, Financial Advisor for The Co-operators in St. Catharines, will present the cheques.
