Media Advisory - The Contribution of the Oilsands to Canada's Economy: Canada's New Economic Engine?
CALGARY, March 17, 2014 /CNW/ - Over the last decade, the growth of Canada's energy trade has been nothing short of historic. Much of that has been driven by the Alberta oilsands. That growth has had an overall impact on the economy, one that deserves measurement, especially in light of frequent criticism of the oilsands domestically and abroad.
Media are invited to join Professor Trevor Tombe of The School of Public Policy as he presents the surprising findings of a new report on the contribution of the oilsands to the economy. In addition to making the case that the oilsands are a new engine of the Canadian economy, Prof. Tombe will outline several policy implications that arise from his findings.
