the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program

TORONTO , Oct. 7 /CNW/ - Adult Congenital Heart Disease effects one in every hundred Canadians. This year marks the 50th anniversary of innovative medical treatments that sets Canada and Toronto apart as a centre of excellence in treating this complex group of conditions. On October 7, 2009 , the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre will host a fundraiser, The Golden Heart Affair to recognize Dr. John Evans , who pioneered a clinic for treatment of adult congenital heart disease in Canada , which has served as a model for clinics around the world.
