Media advisory - The TELUS Watercraft Ride For Dad hits the water in support of the fight against prostate cancer!
RIDEAU FERRY, ON, June 18, 2012 /CNW/ - On Saturday, July 7, 2012 the Ride For Dad will launch its first annual Eastern Ontario Watercraft Ride in support of prostate cancer research and awareness. Building on over 10 years of success with the Motorcycle Ride For Dad, the Watercraft Ride For Dad will bring together personal watercraft riders from the Ontario region who will ride to raise funds to fight Canada's most common men's cancer - prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is the most common men's cancer in Canada. Successful treatment depends on early detection. Ride For Dad events give men a reason to talk about getting their prostates exam. Encouraging men over 40 to get checked saves lives today, and funding much needed research to improve diagnosis, treatment and prevention will further improve the capacity to deal with this disease in the long term.
