OTTAWA, June 7, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston will travel to London, England, from June 9 to 11, 2016, to take part in the celebrations marking the 90th birthday of Her Majesty The Queen.

Their Excellencies will attend the National Service of Thanksgiving in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen and other members of The Royal Family to mark the 90th birthday of Her Majesty The Queen at St. Paul's Cathedral.

Trooping the Colour: The Queen's Birthday Parade
Their Excellencies will participate in the Ceremony of Trooping the Colour, also known as the Queen's Birthday Parade, to celebrate the Sovereign's birthday.
The Queen's Birthday Parade is held in June of each year to mark the Sovereign's birthday. More than 1 400 officers and troops, with approximately 400 musicians from the Massed Bands of the Household Division, participate. One foot guard regiment is selected each year to troop their colour at the Birthday Parade. This year, the Coldstream Guards Colour will be trooped.
