Media Advisory - Their Excellencies to Mark the Beginning of Canadian Cancer Society 2016 Daffodil Month Français
OTTAWA, April 4, 2016 /CNW/ - Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston will receive bouquets of daffodils from two young cancer patients to mark the beginning of the Canadian Cancer Society's Daffodil Month for 2016. The presentation will take place on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at 10 a.m., in the greenhouses of Rideau Hall.
During Daffodil Month, held every April, Canadians are encouraged to join the fight against cancer. Across the country, Canadian Cancer Society volunteers will be selling bright yellow daffodil pins, as well as fresh daffodils, which symbolize strength and courage in the fight against cancer. By wearing the pin throughout the month of April, Canadians can show their support for people living with cancer.
Money raised during Daffodil Month helps patients and their families by funding essential support services, as well as life-saving research and projects that aim to reduce the number of Canadians touched by the disease.
