Planning in Canada's North
OTTAWA, Nov. 29 /CNW/ - Thomas Berger will present his view that land claims agreements are the principal vehicle for land use planning in Canada's North, and a positive force for establishing a new relationship between the Government of Canada and the Aboriginal peoples of the North.
Mr. Berger is among the pre-eminent legal figures in the history of British Columbia. He has a lifetime of impressive accomplishments related to the constitutional and legal protection of Aboriginal rights, both as a practicing lawyer and as a justice on the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
Mr. Berger will speak at The Conference Board of Canada in advance of the launch for the 4th CIBC Scholar-in-Residence book, Canada's North: What's the Plan?
