Media advisory - Thousands expected to participate in the 18th edition of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure Montreal Français
MONTREAL, Oct. 2, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation is pleased to invite journalists to the CIBC Run for the Cure, taking place simultaneously in Montreal (Maisonneuve Park), Sherbrooke (Jacques-Cartier Park) and Quebec City (Plains of Abraham) on Sunday, October 5.
Run for the Cure is the leading national fundraiser organized by volunteers. Every year, women with breast cancer, survivors and their family members come together and meet others who have had the same experience. This year's Run in Montreal will receive a visit from "La Virée Rose." In this major breast cancer awareness initiative, an RV has been crisscrossing Quebec since June, meeting women in their own communities to teach them about taking charge of their breast health.
Every year, the proceeds from Run for the Cure are used to fund the threefold mission of the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation: research and innovation, making breast health a priority through awareness and education initiatives to support women affected by breast cancer and their families, and defending their interests.
