Association (EDA) Toronto Symposium

TORONTO, Oct. 27 /CNW/ - Three prominent Canadian corporate leaders will address business and energy industry executives at the Electricity Distributors Association's (EDA) Executive Symposium on Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Toronto's InterContinental Yorkville Hotel.

The Symposium headlines Kevin Williams, President and Managing Director of GM Canada; Robert Deluce, President and CEO, Porter Airlines Inc.; and Nitin Kawale, President, Cisco Systems Canada Co.

GM Canada's President and Managing Director, Kevin Williams will address GM's progress and re-tooling since the largest restructuring in the company's history last year. Recent announcements have revealed car company's plans to invest over a billion dollars in Canadian operations. Mr. Williams will speak about how GM continues to transform and innovate, not only in the way it designs cars, but in the way it measures success.

Porter's CEO Robert Deluce will share his company's formula for success and how maintaining high brand standards and delivering exceptional customer service has contributed to the success of Porter after less than 4 years in operation.

Nitin Kawale, President, Cisco Systems Canada Co., will speak about Cisco's investments in technology and R&D in the smart grid. This includes Cisco's collaboration with the City of Vancouver to explore opportunities to transform the city's energy and environmental strategy through the use of innovative technology.

Symposium moderator Brian Bentz, EDA Chair will also be available to take questions on Ontario's electricity distribution sector and how the innovation economy is fuelling the province's power industry.
