Media Advisory - Throne speech: Retail industry spokesperson available for comment
TORONTO, Oct. 16, 2013 /CNW/ - Dave Wilkes, Senior Vice President of Retail Council of Canada (RCC) is available for comment prior to and following the Speech from the Throne this afternoon.
"It is widely believed that the speech will focus on consumers, which may include looking at the price gap between goods sold in Canada and the United States and issues such as further tariff reductions and possibly movement towards placing a cap on credit-card fees charged to business - addressing each one of these areas will result in benefits to Canadian consumers, and a signal from the government that they're continuing to explore opportunities to reduce costs," said Dave Wilkes, RCC Senior Vice President.
Retail Council of Canada (www.retailcouncil.org) is the Voice of Retail. Founded in 1963, RCC is a not-for-profit association which represents more than 45,000 stores of all retail formats, including department, grocery, independent merchants, regional and national specialty chains, and online merchants.
