THUNDER BAY, ON, Sept. 19, 2018 /CNW/ - Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) members working for the Thunder Bay District Health Unit will hold a lunch-hour information picket outside of the Board of Health meeting today, the second day of conciliation with their employer.

The 58 nurses – including one Nurse Practitioner – have been working without a collective agreement since December 31, 2016. They have had three days of negotiations and remain the lowest-paid public health nurses in Ontario, despite doing the same work as their colleagues in other parts of the province.
ONA is the union representing more than 65,000 registered nurses and health-care professionals, as well as 18,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
