OTTAWA, Dec. 2, 2013 /CNW/ - National and local Unifor leaders from federally regulated industries will be in Ottawa tomorrow, December 3, to host a media briefing on the threats posed by the Harper government's planned labour law changes, proposed in Bill C-4. Unifor will then take part in an organized lobby effort of MPs on the Hill.
All media are invited to this briefing to learn about Bill C-4, the omnibus Federal Budget Implementation Bill.
Bill C-4, the omnibus budget bill, will damage collective bargaining and limit safety protections for many workers. Unifor represents more than 80,000 workers in federally regulated industries, including rail, airlines, media and telecommunications. Unifor members will be attending from each of these sectors.
Unifor National President Jerry Dias will be in attendance and available for interviews all day in Ottawa.
