Media advisory - Tomorrow: Unifor National President Jerry Dias raises thousands of dollars and rallies men for Hope in High Heels
TORONTO/ BURLINGTON, ON, Sept. 27, 2013 /CNW/ - Unifor National President Jerry Dias is taking part in the Halton Women's Place 'Hope in High Heels' walk taking place in Burlington on Saturday morning.
Dias will be taking part in the annual walk with his son Jordan for the third year. The pair have raised over $100,000 for the Halton Women's Place in the last two years. A number of other union members will be joining Dias in the walk.
"At any given time, the Halton Women's Place has 52 women and children living there," said Dias. "This is a small fraction of the more than 3,000 women and 2,500 children living in emergency shelters across Canada on any day of the year - which amounts to a national catastrophe."
Hope in High Heels:
September 28, starting at 10:45
Emma's Back Porch - 2084 Old Lakeshore Road
Burlington, Ontario
