Pan Am flame to visit Winnipeg City Hall and previous Pan Am Games venue, Pan Am Pool and daytime celebration at The Forks
TORONTO, June 20, 2015 /CNW/ - On Monday, June 22, Day 23 of the Pan Am Games Torch Relay, presented by President's Choice® and OLG, the Pan Am flame will make its way to Manitoba to visit the city of Winnipeg.
The relay day will begin with a celebration at Winnipeg City Hall before making its way to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights where 14-year-old cyclist Rebecca Man will ride with the Pan Am flame. Next, at The Forks, a Parks Canada National Historic Site, Jon Montgomery, Olympic gold medallist in skeleton, will arrive carrying the Pan Am flame and will light the community cauldron. The flames final destination of the day will be a visit to the Pan Am Pool with Cameron MacDonald, national team member, para-swimming.
Monday, June 22, 2015 (Relay Day 23: Winnipeg, MB)
Winnipeg City Hall – 11:35 a.m. (CT) (151 Princess Street, Winnipeg)
Photo opportunity:
- Delfin Tan will depart from city hall carrying the Pan Am flame and will it pass it to Deborah Muir, past coach of Canada's synchronized swimming team
Canadian Museum for Human Rights – 12:05 a.m. (CT) (85 Israel Asper Way, Winnipeg)

- Flame will be carried on a bicycle by torchbearer Rebecca Man
The Forks – (1 Forks Market Road, Winnipeg)
Day celebration:
- Flame will arrive at 12:30 p.m. carried by Jon Montgomery, television host and Olympic gold medallist, skeleton racing.
Pan Am Pool – 4 p.m. (CT) (25 Poseidon Bay, Winnipeg)
Photo opportunity:
- Torchbearer Cameron MacDonald, Team Canada para-swimming athlete, will carry the flame.
The Pan Am Games Torch Relay is a 41-day journey that will share the Pan Am spirit in more than 130 communities. The torch relay is one of the most exciting events as it sets the stage leading up to the Games. There will be more than 3,000 torchbearers and 180 community celebrations taking place.

About the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games Torch Relay
The TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games Torch Relay, presented by President's Choice® and OLG, is supported by community partner CIBC, signature supporters Star Media Group and Metroland Media, Ontario Trillium Foundation and Porter Airlines, and funding parties the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario.
