TORONTO, Feb. 24, 2016 /CNW/ - For six decades, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), has worked tirelessly to conserve, preserve and enhance the natural environments in the GTA. That remarkable legacy is being celebrated at the 60th Annual Meeting this Friday, February 26 at 10:30 a.m. at Tennis Canada.
Dignitaries scheduled to address attendees include Glen Murray, Minister of the Environment and Climate Change; Eleanor McMahon, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry; Francesco Sorbara, MP Vaughan-Woodbridge; TRCA Chair; and TRCA CEO Brian Denney. Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne will share video greetings.
"Today's event is an opportunity to share our future plans and for us to express our gratitude to our member municipalities and all of the other groups and individuals who are working with us to build The Living City," Brian Denney, TRCA CEO said.
An election of officers to the Authority, including the positions of Chair and Vice Chair, will be held, as well as interactive booths of various TRCA initiatives and several video presentations. A lunch reception will follow.
