Who: Toronto Hydro-Electric System proudly sponsors WindFest 2010. What: A family-friendly event celebrating the power of wind at Toronto's beautiful Woodbine Beach. WindFest 2010 will feature international kite fliers, expert demonstrations, kite making workshops and conservation and clean energy activities for kids. Representatives from the wind energy community will be onsite to talk about the benefits of wind power. Why: Wind energy is a clean and renewable source of energy. Harnessing wind's massive potential is a key part to building a sustainable electricity supply mix for Toronto. Torontonians of all ages are encouraged to enjoy an afternoon of kite flying while learning about wind's role in powering a cleaner and greener Toronto. When: Saturday, October 2 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Woodbine Beach at Ashbridges Bay Closest main intersection is Lake Shore Boulevard East and Coxwell Avenue Photo/Video Op: Media are invited for a chartered boat tour at 2 p.m. for wide angle shots of the festival.
