Media Advisory - Toronto Island Park Clean-up Takes Aim at Big Pieces of Washed Ashore Debris
TORONTO, Oct. 1, 2018 /CNW/ - Media are invited to attend the Clean Water – Our Future – The Toronto Islands clean-up as barges, tug boats, smaller vessels, and a crew of volunteers, will be in and on the waters of Lake Ontario around the Toronto Island Park for a shoreline cleanup. They will be gathering and removing large, heavy items such as golf carts, old wooden piles and cables, boats and more items found in the water along the shore.
Though media can access the vicinity of the clean-up from the Islands at any time during the morning of the clean-up, organizers are providing a boat for media for better views and access to clean up volunteers and spokespersons. Attending media are advised to dress appropriately outdoor, on-the-water travel.

Water resources and shorelines at the Toronto Islands are a vital contributor to the quality of life in the Toronto region. We need to look after them always, but especially following last year's floods of the Islands which resulted in large pieces of debris left to waste in the water. |
