Media Advisory - Toronto rally in solidarity with Baltimore Protests and to demand an end to Toronto Police's Carding policy
TORONTO, May 1, 2015 /CNW/ - On Saturday, May 2nd 2015, members of Toronto's Black community and their allies will demonstrate as part of an International Day of Action against anti-Black racism and police brutality (#blackspring). The demonstration will demand justice for Freddie Gray, an unarmed man killed by the Baltimore Police Department, and all other victims of police brutality. The demonstration will also call on Police Chief Mark Saunders to immediately end Toronto Police Service's Carding policies, which disproportionately target and criminalize Black Torontonians.

The protest is organized by Black Lives Matter Toronto, a coalition of Black community members, activists, youth, and professionals from all parts of the city.
