TORONTO, April 26, 2018 /CNW/ - During this evening's rush hour commute (from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.), the WSIB's Day of Mourning, black-wrapped streetcar will run empty as a special tribute to people who have died, been injured or suffered illness in the workplace.
Every year millions of Ontarians go to work - the empty seats on the streetcar represent those who never made the commute home. The empty streetcar is running in advance of the Day of Mourning on April 28 to maximize public awareness of the Day.
Media is encouraged to capture footage of the streetcar during its empty run and/or schedule an interview with a WSIB spokesperson.
WHEN: Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: See map of complete route of the rush hour loop here

To commemorate the Day of Mourning, the WSIB is also hosting a public ceremony in Simcoe Park on Friday, April 27.
