MEDIA ADVISORY - Town hall April 25 on home nursing care in Niagara area and Norfolk County
ST. CATHARINES, ON, April 24, 2015 /CNW/ - After two weeks on the picket line, CarePartners nursing and administrative staff have called a special town hall meeting April 25 to hear from the community and to call for accountability from government.
They're also looking to the Community Care Access Centre to fulfil its promise to care for their patients for the duration of the current labour dispute.
Organized by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU), which represents 130 staff members at CarePartners, the town hall hopes to hear from families and patients under the company's care. Since the strike began April 10 CarePartners has turned to the CCAC to make contingency arrangements for the clients' health care needs
Local MPPs Cindy Forster and Wayne Gates are scheduled to be at the town hall.
