OTTAWA, Nov. 5 /CNW/ - The Red Cross is ramping up its emergency response efforts as strong winds and torrential rain from Tropical Storm Tomas hit parts of Haiti. Red Cross teams have been working around the clock all week pre-positioning emergency supplies and personnel, and helping communities prepare for the storm.

Canadian Red Cross aid workers are in Haiti and available for comments and media interviews today and throughout the weekend.
