Media Advisory - Two Members of The Children's Wish Foundation Chapter Advisory Board Members Receive Outstanding Achievement Recognition
VANCOUVER, Jan. 8th, 2015 /CNW/ - The staff of the BC & Yukon Chapter of The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada are thrilled to recognise the recent successes of two members of our Chapter Advisory Board. This represents just a fraction of the great things the board members are doing – and being recognized for – both in their roles with Children's Wish and otherwise.
Chapter Advisory Board member Doctor Shubhayan Sanatani has been promoted to new role at the BC Children's Hospital as the Head, Division of Pediatric Cardiology and Medical Director, BCCH Heart Centre. We continue to be in awe of Doctor Sanatani's unwavering dedication to the children he serves. Through his enthusiasm and commitment he has created numerous medical and fundraising connections for The Children's Wish Foundation.
Chapter Advisory Board Vice-Chair Lana Bradshaw has been named as one of Vancouver's Forty Under 40 by Business in Vancouver magazine, and will be celebrated along with the other winners at BIV's annual Forty Under 40 awards dinner on January 28, 2015. Lana is a dynamic Vice-Chair, responsible for countless new initiatives at Children's Wish, including the launch of a very well-received gala event, the WISH Gala, this year to be held on March 5th, 2015 at The Vogue Theatre, as well as sharing her passion for Children's Wish with countless new connections. Her recognition as one of Vancouver's Top 40 is much deserved.
Jennifer Petersen, Director of the BC & Yukon Chapter said, "We are so lucky to have such an esteemed group of community leaders supporting Children's Wish initiatives in the BC & Yukon region. Lana and Dr Sanatani's recognition as leaders in their respective fields are just two examples of the amazing calibre of representation on our Chapter Advisory Board."
The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada
Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life threatening illness. Since 1984, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada has worked tirelessly to grant exceptional wishes to over 21,000 children and their families.
This year, the Foundation expects to grant over 1,000 new wishes nationally and is proud to have never refused a wish to an eligible child, and with the help of volunteers and generous donors, is able to grant nearly three wishes every day. Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of a particular child and family. The Foundation is a national charity with chapters in every province and territory.
