Media Advisory - Unifor unites with Mexican workers as NAFTA talks resume
MEXICO CITY, Nov. 16, 2017 /CNW/ - Unifor National President Jerry Dias will participate in a forum organized by Mexican labour unions before addressing thousands of Mexican workers at a rally outside of the NAFTA negotiations.
"Historically the NAFTA agreement has pitted workers in the three countries against each other, forcing them to undercut their standards of living while corporations have raked in massive profits," said Dias. "Now we are joining together to send the message to governments and multinationals that we will no longer allow international trade deals to divide and exploit workers."
